Vādirājaru

Biography

Vādirājaru was a prolific composer, scholar, and pontiff known for his mastery of both śāstra and sahitya. His aṅkita Hayavadana (Hayagrīva) reflects his devotion to the horse faced form of Viṣṇu as the source of knowledge. He composed ugabhogas, sulādis, and philosophical works, and is remembered for revitalizing temple traditions at Udupi.
