Biography

Śrī Madhvāchārya (Anandatīrtha) is the founder of the Dvaita (Tattvavāda) school of Vedānta. His works established the philosophical foundation upon which later Haridāsa literature rests — the supremacy of Viṣṇu, the reality of the world, and the path of devotion grounded in correct knowledge. The Dvādaśa Stotra is among his most celebrated stotras, praising the twelve names of Viṣṇu. Though not a Dāsa composer in the pada tradition, every Haridāsa saint composed in the light of his siddhānta.
